It's the beginning of another week.
I had a fantastic weekend. I ended up volunteering at Special Olympics, and I loved every minute of it! I met a pharmacist from Northside Hospital and a massage therapist from Roswell. We all sat at the volunteer registration. Fun times! There were times when there were 30 people all at once coming and then people that never even said to say hello. We switched shifts (by choice!) for each of us to go look around Emory to see what was going on within the Special Olympics.
Don't you hate when somebody that you think you know so well, just totally insults your abilities?? I had that experience today, and for an LP I am sure that is normal to get people in your life like that. I had breakfast with a person like that today! I miss her oh so much in some ways, but today I had a change of thought for a moment! I expressed that my major is Special Education. Special Education is such a broad subject, but no where in that field does she see it is right for me. With her being a Special Educator for 30 years!, I was totally insulted, and shocked she would say such a thing. Whatever. I'm over it, and obviously her feelings will not make me go change my major, but her view on me is totally different. She did suggest one piece of advice which I knew and that was... go observe! I might do that one day, maybe Spring semester next year. We'll see!
I am not liking taking a summer class at ALL! It stinks... and I am rethinking it for next summer. However, I want to be a teacher, so I will enjoy summers for the rest of my life unless the whole world goes into all year around school. EWW! yes, EWW!
Poolside tomorrow! Work is going good too! I always like that.
